I can't walk by the lobster tank at the grocery store without wincing and having brief visions of going all Elliott-from-E.T. I know that lobsters have roughly the mental capacity of bugs, since they are basically giant aquatic bugs, but it just doesn't feel right to keep them penned up like that, awaiting death (don't get me started on the manner of cooking a lobster...). I'm sure they don't mind the tank, I just... well, I wince.
I also usually don't have any reason to go by the meat section, just because of what I usually buy and how the store is laid out, but yesterday I was grabbing something from a frozen food case, and I happened to look to my right, and it was just like... "Oh. That's a dead chicken. Wrapped in plastic."
