Why You Should Recycle Every Aluminum Can Ever:

Because producing alumina from bauxite produces toxic sludge that ruins peoples' homes and their health.

How horrifying. My thoughts and prayers are with the people in Hungary.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some aluminum foil to wash and reuse...

Wow. that is just sickening. Yes, companies need to do better at containing their waste. Irresponsible all through. But they wouldn't be making it if it weren't for people who needed cheap aluminum for cans and foil. I've decided not to buy any more foil (a few weeks ago) so I'm very carefully using what I have left, and coming up with better ways to keep food fresh. Just put a plate over the bowl in the fridge instead of using foil. Etc. This article really bolstered my motivation, so thank you. I think I'll be sharing this on Facebook too.

Nikki,

You're welcome! I actually ended up buying foil a few days after I posted this, so I could dehydrate some peppers, but I've been washing everything for either reuse or at least recycling.
